Greetings Everyone,
A couple of days ago we THOUGHT we had vanquished the last shred of Christmas Decor.
But we found a few little things that we failed to put away.
It seems that this happens EVERY YEAR.
One year, I accidentally left some plastic mistletoe up on the entry hall light fixture.
We finally noticed it sometime in February.
I thought it was funny.
Left it up for the rest of the year...just cause it seemed to shock our visitors.
Does anybody else ever fail to get EVERY last shred of Christmas tucked away?
Yesterday we discovered a couple of refugee Christmas bells and a Christmas candle.
They apparently "missed their flight" when all the other stuff left.
Looks like this year they will hide out in my Great Grandmother's little sidebar...with her antique dishes.
They will be among cherished things.
Next year I hope I remember to bring them out again.
SIGH...I just now looked over and saw the Christmas Jar of Candy Canes.
Correction: Make that 4 Christmas Items that "missed their flight".
Oh Well....I guess I can always EAT the candy and then hide the jar in the little sidebar with the others things
I Have Noticed That Christmas is Sneaky Like This!
Seems It Just Doesn't Want to Go Away.
Perhaps there's a message somewhere in this story...
Maybe we should keep a little Christmas Spirit around all year... to remind us about what's important.
In Him,
Grace
Can a Christian Teacher survive and thrive in a Public High School? Can she balance faith, family, friends, AND work? By God's grace,YES SHE CAN! Welcome to Graces' kitchen. Get your coffee and pull up a chair. I hope you enjoy reading grace_underpressure2011. The name GRACE is an alias I am using because of the need to protect the privacy of my students, colleagues, friends and family. Using this alias just seems prudent to me. Thank you for coming to see me today! Come back soon.
The Reward for Surviving Rough Seas
We are all like sea shells tossed about in rough waters and being re-shaped in wondrous ways. But have you ever contemplated the notion that sea shells have to complete their journey through the rough waters before they get to rest on the shore? Yeah, we are ALL like sea shells and Heaven is The Great Shore.
